Hellfog 04:20
Hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, hell, FOG —
2.
Netherwhirl 05:17
Geometric trap was set from island back to shore. Arrogant explorers can’t be made to heed the lore. Setting sails for hidden trails that served as graves before. Their hubris as the catalyst for how legends are born. Victory was forecast but misfortune feeds on faith. All eyes looking forward to an ego-manic fate. Without warning water turned an unfamiliar hue, the wind dispatched a storm too fierce for men to weather through. (They) vanished to depths deeper down in the brine, disapparition by violent design, fabric of space time worn thin here in kind, after the afterlife, after their lives.

Sun, so eclipsed, night extinguished day, time seemed to stand still, as the hours flew by. Lost your gravity when your power lost its weight, filled you up full of the hottest air as your breath was swept away. Where have you been till now, so blissed and unaware, open those eyes wider now to what’s always been there. Ground beneath your feet is cracked and broken can’t you see, fractured lenses cut you open wide and theres no where for you to hide.
4.
Pod People 02:54
Came here to make some money, came here cos they could, came here for mild weather and to claim our neighborhoods. Touched down just after nightfall, touched down right next door, touched down in metal boxes with a view and a lawn and a smart car. Pod-people everywhere! Want just a guided-tour, want just “to serve man”, want just to body-snatch us, but we’ll escape to Spokane.
5.
Economicon 04:20
Bitten by a fools-gold tooth and bled for bounty under a full moon swallowed, heart and all for wherewithal, TURNED BY WEREWOLVES! Heed, heed, heed the warning, distant howls of promised fortune; never had a chance, so goes the last generation down. Me, me, me the fool screams, give me immortality, and please bleed me for novelty. Sinking in a storm-torn sea and falsely steered by songs extending power, make-believe, they were deceived and FOOLED BY SIRENS! Mind, mind, mind mirages, lest you’re swindled by the subtext; never had a shot, so goes the lost generation down. Bleed, bleed, bleed the beast screams, give me your humanity, and bleed, bleed, bleed for me my sweet. Lured by a silver tongue by keys to be forever young, teeth tore at the nape, there’s no escape, BLED BY VAMPIRES! Look, look, look for liars, preying on your tall desires; never had a clue, so goes the doom generation down. Free, free, free the fool screams, vindicate my luxury and please bleed me for novelty. Bleed bleed bleed the beast screams, bleed until you’re gold and empty, bleed bleed bleed the beast screams out.
6.
Doomsday 06:12
Rabble-rousers with a rubble appetite, making money from a troubled paradise, in the netherworld, you’ll be rest assured no villain makes it out alive. But in spite of any karmic comeuppance, we could go up in flames, smoldering remainings of a dead rock spinning out of orbit towards an astral plane. Never ending doomsday, never ending, ever pending, never ending doomsday descends. Been 11:59 for a lifetime, but you’re acting like its midnight, like you’re gonna burn, gonna drown, gonna lose another turn waiting for the day we’re gonna learn. But if this is the end and we go up in flames we’ll just be smoldering remainings of a dead rock spinning out of orbit towards an astral plane. Never ending doomsday, never ending, ever pending never ending doomsday my friends.

about

HR038

"Surf is not the most imaginative of genres, but Seattle’s Baywitch have always used it in imaginative ways, never letting their penchant for puppets and whimsy overwhelm their intrinsic understanding that surf needs to be just a little bit evil in order to be worth the listen. On their third full-length, Apocaptropica, the band takes on the impending apocalypse with a sense of zany good cheer undercut with a sense of eerie remoteness, as if the music were being played through a television set. It’s the end of the world as seen on Saturday morning cartoons, tales of climate collapse and economic destruction delivered with twang and color as guitarist Lila Burns leads her merry band from wormy, exploratory instrumentals through to garage stompers before running out of the clock with conceptual closing track “Dooms Day.” - Bandcamp

"Seattle’s favorite psychedelic surf trio is back, just in time for “Doomsday.” Released just a couple of weeks ago, Apocatropica, the new six-song ripper from Baywitch, makes for the ideal soundtrack for warm weather." - KEXP

"Lila Burns, Sicily Robinson, and Jake Meierdierck resurrect the tidal crashing chords of Dick Dale tunes past in an adaptation to mirror the madness of the world with a PNW perspective." - Week In Pop

"Die Band aus Seattle tränkt den freundlichen Surf in düstere Themen. Es geht um die Gräuel unserer Zeiten, namentlich Kolonialismus, Kapitalismus und Voreingenommenheit, die uns dann wiederum ins Doom-Scrolling schicken." - Reverb is for Lovers

"The Seattle-based trio may play surf-rock, but due to the addition of dark lyrics, hazy vocals and psych influences, their sound is more reminiscent of Thee Oh Sees than The Surfrajettes. It’s “smurf-rock toon doom” as they call it, ominous and hypnotic, and quite impressive." - Add to Want List
